RECA Privacy Policy
This policy explains what information RECA collects when you use our site and submit your work, how we use it, and the choices you have. By using the RECA site or submitting a project, you agree to the practices described here.
Information We Collect
When you submit a project, we collect the information you provide through the submission form, which may include your full name, email address, Instagram handle, company name, award category, project title, video link, the primary entrant or award recipient, additional credits, the project owner or hiring company (for Editing Mastery entries), and your AI disclosure.
We also keep basic records of your submission, such as the date and time, a submission ID, and its payment status.
Payment Information
Submission fees are processed by Stripe. Payment is handled on Stripe's secure checkout, and RECA does not receive or store your full card number or security code. Stripe processes your payment under its own privacy policy and terms.
How We Use Your Information
We use the information you provide to process and review your submission, to communicate with you about your entry (including confirmation emails and, where relevant, updates about judging and results), to operate and improve the awards program, and to promote selected work in line with our Terms and Conditions.
How We Store and Share Information
Submission information is stored using Google services (including Google Sheets and Google Workspace). Your submitted project may be shared with the RECA judging panel for evaluation. We do not sell your personal information. We may share information with service providers who help us run the program, such as our payment processor and hosting and email providers, and where required by law.
Communications
If you submit a project, we may email you about your entry and about future RECA award cycles, announcements, and opportunities. You can opt out of non-essential emails at any time by contacting us at [RECA contact email]. Emails that are necessary to your submission, such as payment and entry confirmations, are part of the service.
Cookies and Analytics
The RECA site is hosted on Framer and may use cookies and similar technologies to keep the site working and to understand how it is used. You can control cookies through your browser settings.
Your Choices and Rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, or delete the personal information we hold about you, or to object to certain uses. To make a request, contact us at [RECA contact email]. We will respond in line with applicable law.
Data Retention
We keep submission information for as long as needed to run the awards, maintain the winners archive, and meet legal and accounting obligations, after which it is deleted or anonymized.
Children's Privacy
The RECA site and awards are intended for professional creators and are not directed to children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under the age required in their region to provide it.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this policy as the program develops. Material changes will be reflected on this page with an updated date.
